how to become a neat-freak

how to become a neat freak

i'll be the first to admit i have not always been a tidy person. in the past i said things like "it's an organized mess, i know where everything is!" as an excuse for not keeping my space neat.

now i love having a clean space! it gives me peace knowing i have one less thing to worry about - cleaning my room.

🌟 start to view having a clean space as a sign of respect for yourself, and your space. there are many important things you need to do on a day to day basis, and that list can be cut significantly by setting a standard of cleanliness for yourself. i'm sure you have many beautiful things in your room, and id you're like me you care about maintaining them. respect them accordingly.

🌟 as cliche as it is, your bed is the best place to start. it takes up the majority of your room, so having it made daily allows the smaller tasks of putting things back in drawers, taking water bottles downstairs, feel much smaller in comparison. doing this first thing in the morning is a great momentum tool as well - your brain will view it as a big task checked off your list and continuing your tasks for the day will appear easier.

🌟 know where everything is. workout leggings and tops in one drawer, pjs and pants in one drawer, dresses on hangers, etc. being consistent with where you put your things saves you time and energy. no need to hunt for 30 minutes trying to find your favorite top when you can just put it in a specific drawer and remember where it is whenever you need it. giving everything a place also helps prevent losing small items like airpods, earrings, and house keys !!

🌟 create a routine. i vacuum my room, wipe my mirrors and wipe down my desk every week. i typically do my laundry twice a week. i wash my sheets weekly, and my comforter biweekly. having a routine that you don't have to write down makes cleaning feel more natural and less forced.

🌟 clean when you aren't busy. i don't do laundry on days when my schedule is packed because i know my clothes will end up sitting in that laundry basket and get wrinkled. tasks like washing my sheets or cleaning out my closet require dedicated time, do i do my best to plan accordingly.

🌟 blur the line. you are not someone who is messy and wishes to be tidy, you are a tidy person that is a human and slips up. the more consistent you are with cleaning your room, your car, your backpack, the more natural it will feel. when people come over they will always compliment your room !!

that is all for today, you guys. thank you so much for reading this post and if you have any recommendation please comment them down below or contact me 💌   - bella ♡
